DAN Hodi Empowerment Foundation Donates PCR Reaction to Kano COVID-19 Testing Lab

Dan Hodi Empowerment Foundation has donated 600 units of PCR reaction which is compatible with the PCR machine currently in use to Kano Covid-19 Testing Laboratory.

The items which were sent to the State through the Director, Centre for Infectious Diseases Research (CIDR) Bayero University Kano, Professor Isa Abubakar, was accompanied by a letter addressed to the Vice-Chancellor, Bayero University Kano Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello, who is the Chairman of Kano State Fund Raising Committee of Covid-19 and copied to the Chairman State Task Force on Covid-19, (the Deputy Governor, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna), the Chief Medical Director Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital Prof. Abdurrahman Abba Sheshe, and the Provost College of Health Sciences, Bayero University Kano, Professor Ibrahim Adamu Yakasai.

This gesture is a great support to the NCDC laboratory in AKTH that is currently serving the state as well as the new one which will soon commence operation at the CIDR BUK, both within the premises of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH)

The item, upon receipt, was inspected by the Director, CIDR, and a team of Laboratory Scientists working in the Covid-19 laboratory. They were adjudged to be compatible with the machine currently in use.

Report of this donation has since reached the VC BUK, the CMD AKTH and the State Task Force Chairman, as the Director CIDR informed them and handed over the letters to the VC BUK, the CMD AKTH, the Provost CHS and the Chairman State Task Force (the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna.

While thanking the foundation on behalf of the state, the Director CIDR, Professor Isa Abubakar also urged other well-meaning Nigerians to ‘take a leaf out of the book of this foundation and support the efforts of the government and these institutions towards this great fight against the spread of COVID-19.
